RESPONSIBILITIES:

To operate as a Specialist Vehicle tracked driver, commander or gunner during the various SV prototype vehicle trials.

To maintain the vehicle and its fitted systems in accordance with the associated publications

Assist in level 2 maintenance and repair activities
-
Assist in commissioning vehicle systems and test equipment and liaise with 3rd party contractors as necessary

Liaise with domain engineering specialists with regard to trials incidents and vehicle issues
-
Contribute to the writing of daily test logs through provision of feedback from conducting test serials
-
Produce supporting data to DRACAS incidents and root cause investigations
-
Conduct platform maintenance, repair and update maintenance records in accordance with schedule
-
Provide as required support to trials readiness reviews for individual trials activities

Be able to deal with MoD customer personnel
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
ESSENTIAL
-
UK category H tracked driving license holder
-
Proven experience in crewing medium weight tracked AFV in the roles of Driver & Maintainer and Vehicle Commander and Gunner in accordance with AFV Standing Orders

Proven experience in operating small and medium weapons on AFV

Self-starter, able to work on own initiative when necessary

Strong written, verbal and communication skills

Ability to liaise with and present information to multidiscipline and multinational stakeholders

Willing to work unsociable hours when necessary to support trials
-
Willing to travel extensively within the UK and Europe
DESIRABLE:

AFV Driving and Maintenance Instructor
-
Medium and small arms weapon Instructor and safety supervisor
-
BCIP user
-
Knowledge of DRACAS and incident reporting systems
-
Familiar with relevant Defence Standards, Military Standards and EC Directives.
