M&E Global Resources is a defence contractor undertaking services on complex military equipment and aircraft for UK and US contractors. We have a fantastic opportunity for a CNC Machinist to join our team.
The Role
Based in Illesheim, Germany you’ll get to work alongside our dedicated workforce on a US Military base.
Prior experience as a CNC Machinist will be required, although additional training will be provided on site.
This role is a fantastic chance for you to further develop your skills as a Machinist, working on a diverse range of equipment in an exciting environment.
Essential duties and responsibilities
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to fulfil each of the following essential duties:
- Set up and operate efficiently all machines and equipment in the Tool Room such as grinders, lathes, milling machines, including CNC mills, drill presses, saws, planer, sanders, mig, tig, arc and acetylene welding, burn out and edm.
- Use all machinist and pattern maker hand tools and precision measuring instruments skilfully.
- Fabricate, assemble, construct and repair metal or wood parts, tools, jigs, fixtures, master patterns, core boxes and dies from prints, sketches or templates.
- Construct, calibrate, or set gages and precision measuring instruments.
- Sharpen all tools and work to a minimum tolerance of .0001.
- Maintain equipment and working area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Perform other job-related duties as directed by supervisor.
- Requires a minimum of instruction and supervision.
- Operate all tool room manual machine-milling, lathe, surface grinders and hand surface grinders
- Hold extremely tight tolerances
- Program and operate CNC Mill, CNC Lathe, and Wire EDM
- Able to using Auto Cad and Cad-Cam proficiently
- Repair and trouble shoot progressive and draw dies.
- Able to repair and trouble shoot injection moulds
- Build complete dies for just replacement die details (with and without die prints)
- Heat treatment process knowledge and experience a must
- Must have hands on experience with multi stage progressive dies
